Paying it forward

Last month I put a call out for our next Pay it forward shoot. All I knew is my heart would sing with passion when the right person commented on our facebook post.

We had dozens of comments, tons of deserving people, tagging themselves, each other but one sung to me, pulled my heart strings and I knew my next session was with Paula’s Mum, Joan.

Paula left a brief wee message saying how she’d like to nominate her mum, 87 and struggling coming to terms with old age dementia. Paula said it “would be nice to capture her while she still knows us and we lose her to this illness” with the cord tugged, I knew I had to get Paula to come in with Joan and have a beautiful portrait together.

And that we did. Paula and her sister took Joan to her local hairdressers in the morning, I remember Paula saying how she always loves watching her mum get her hair done.

Followed by a visit to Time2Shine Photography with a lovely pampering with Bonnie-Marie hair and make-up in the studio and a couple of portraits straight after, check out the favs and the beautiful video we created together below.

Moments like these are the reason I love paying it forward, and just being able to meet Joan and her two daughters, the third in Australia. It was such an honor to capture these incredible portraits that are truly gorgeous.
